it has just come to my attention that one of the newer history professors has been teaching a course on pirates in america all semester! and i'm just now hearing about it. where have i been? i could have been auditing it! while it's very exciting to have a fun course like this being taught, i'm more than a little sad at having missed out on more than half of it. but thankfully, the syllabus and reading list is on line, so i can maybe scrap together some semblance of an independent study...
