where
does the time go? all of a sudden it's the middle of august and we're preparing for hurricane charley to give us a good dousing and hopefully blow down the dead tree in our yard without hitting any cars. i had a great visit last week from my college roommate, amanda...a welcome distraction that caused a week to go by when I blinked. we located the brand spanking new world market in orlando, and totally lusted at all the things we would get if we had a) money, and b) someplace to put it all. also, we ate really well, and discovered a new place for sushi...though i'm not sure i could enjoy it again soon after watching the man at the next table polish off at least 50 pieces at one sitting. unbelievable. anyhow, amanda heads back to ostrava (czech republic) at the end of the month for another year of teaching english and drama at the university and a small language school. amanda, i wish you a very safe trip back and a very very happy birthday tomorrow!
