i got back last night from a whirlwind tour of north carolina...and a job interview! but hold your applause, please. the interview went really well, but i'm not going to jump the gun and assume anything yet. we'll know for sure in a couple of weeks. meanwhile the weather was gorgeous and i want to thank betsy, the e h little gang, ashley, britt and scott, and the squirtus for putting me up and/or entertaining me with the latest gossip...er, news.

goings on this past week:

-we went to the beach on saturday when jessie was home, marking the true entrance of the spring/summer season. some guy fushing in the surf caught at least 3 (maybe 4) 4-6 ft. sharks. i've never seen that happen so many times in one afternoon...

-i started a part time job with a small company that publishes magic books and tricks (as well as other things. now i know how to saw a lady in half...but have been sworn to secrecy. sorry.

-and (isn't timing so funny?) finally got called in for an interview from that application i sent in two months ago. next friday, it is.

-also, g'mama turned 80 yesterday! but we're celebrating all week, so a continuous happy birthday to her!

Mom and I spent yesterday at the farmers market in Winter Park, and came home with some yummy teas, plants (including herbs), and strawberries. And the heartiness of the hebs inspired up to make chive and dill omlets and then repot and root a bunch of plants. The little mint stems are so happy and will hopefully survive the digging squirrels and continue to thrive in their new pots. Maggie was a big help, but we discovered that she has a penchant for fish food...actual fish food, not the ice cream. Can she be that desperate for a snack that she would steal food from her fishy friends and then try to conceal the evidence? Can she indeed? Apparently so.
