My little baby spare tire seems to have had a really good time getting some fresh air lately, as it wants another go at it. It looks so small and funny on there, and I can almost hear it yelling "Wheeeeee!" as I drive down the road. I'll be glad when construction is done on the building next door and I don't have to watch out for stray nails...my collection is big enough as it is.
Happy Birthday to April and Alex!
It seems to be officially summer now, as I saw the first fireflies coming out last night. Where do they go during the winter? Are they dormant in their pupa stage or something or are they around but just don't light up until summer? Either way, it's fun to see them again, as they don't seem to frequent central Florida too much. Of course this also means that the mosquitos are also coming out as well...good thing they only seem to plague NC in the summer as well.
Meanwhile, I've been extra-fidgety lately, and am seriously thinking about trying to knit the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy cast from the Heart of Gold scene with the Infinite Improbability Drive. Maybe I'll have to see the movie again as a detailed study...
Congrats to the Jessie for all the graduating that she did last night! I'm a very proud (and very old-feeling) sister right now. I recall graduating from college as being a fairly daunting experience, what with all the options and separation and pressure and the adulthood looming. Luckily for the Jess, the day before was free donut day at Krispy Kreme and so that glazed one at midnight helped to fortify her (and me) for the day ahead. As well as kicking butt at team-Nertz! :)
