
Crock Pot Split Pea Soup
This is great on a cold and rainy day. Just stick it all in the pot in the morning, and it's ready for dinner.
Serves 6
Ingredients
- 1 lb. dried split peas
- 2 oz. shaved ham
- 3 pints water
- 1 pint chicken broth
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- salt and pepper
Directions
- Rinse dried peas in cold water.
- If desired, brown ham in skillet over medium heat.
- Add all ingredients to the crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours.
- Serve with warm, toasty bread. Yum.
